Devol Engineering Ltd Established in Bawhirley Road, Greenock, occupying the old Co-op building.
1970
The company moves to larger premises in Lynedoch Industrial Estate, Greenock.
1975
Due to further increased capacity, Devol moves to premises in Clarence Street, Greenock.
1980
First material produced in the casting plant.
1991
Devol again extends capacity and the casting plant, known as “The Lab”, is built across the street.
1995
Devol completes 100% purchase of major injection moulded component supplier.
1996
“The Lab” is modernised and facilities are upgraded to incorporate state-of-the-art Dosiplast machinery.
2001
Devol establishes a division in Johannesburg, South Africa.
2002
A small sales office is established in Sydney, Australia. The main purpose of this business is to service the growing demand for parts to the Australian rail industry.
2003
A sales office is established in Houston, Texas to assist with growing interest from the oil and gas industry.
2008
Devol is acquired by the James Walker Group, becoming James Walker Devol. James Walker is a dynamic global manufacturing organisation that supplies a vast range of high performance fluid sealing products and associated knowledge-based services to virtually every sector of industry.
2009
Injection moulding facilities are transferred to Greenock, thus ensuring in-house capabilities for all processes.
2013
The business moves to current premises in Faulds Park, Gourock. The new facility boasts 8,200sqm of factory space, creating enhanced working and storage space as well as a brighter working environment.
